Visa applications: new procedure from April 18

To better welcome the public and reduce waiting times, the French Embassy in Canada will outsource the collection of visa applications to VFS Global.

To better welcome the public and reduce waiting times, the French Embassy in Canada will outsource the collection of visa applications to VFS Global.

This new process will gradually be put in place between April and July 2018, with the opening of four visa application centers in:

  • Montréal on April 18th
  • Toronto on May 31st
  • Vancouver on June 28th
  • Ottawa on July 12th

Filing procedures remain unchanged until each location opens. Once these centers are open, applicants will be able to apply for visas at the VFS center of their choice.

A service fee will be charged and will be payable online when making an appointment.

To facilitate the process for students and others who do not live near an application center, a mobile visa application service may be offered.

Prior to the opening of each center, the Embassy and Consulates General will communicate on appointment procedures.
The Consulate General of Montréal will soon provide information on the exact address of Montreal’s VFS center, as well as the starting date for booking appointments on the France-Visas website.
